At a café, I noticed a group of older people sitting at a nearby table. They each had a pen and piece of A4 lined paper. I could see some writing on the paper but not what it said.
It was a difficult Mother’s Day. I was going through a deeply stressful time at work, my husband was working away, and I wasn’t able to see three of my children.
As a young mum, I knitted jumpers and cardigans for my children to keep them cosy in the harsh English winters.
